Gignac Architects + Performance Architecture
Gignac Architects, the lead architectural firm for The Ritz Theatre rehabilitation, has served Texas since 1988, providing architectural, interior, and landscape design services throughout South Texas. Founded by Raymond Gignac, AIA, the firm brings decades of local experience and a deep understanding of the communities it serves.
For The Ritz, Gignac has partnered with Performance Architecture, led by architects Gary Martinez and John Easterling. Nationally recognized for their work in the arts, culture, and education sectors, Martinez and Easterling bring extensive experience in the rehabilitation and preservation of historic theatres—breathing new life into treasured community landmarks while preparing them to serve future generations.
Together, Gignac Architects and Performance Architecture create a dynamic team for The Ritz: combining South Texas knowledge and relationships with nationally recognized historic theatre expertise. Their partnership is helping guide the transformation of the 1929 Ritz Theatre into a modern performing arts, entertainment, event, and education destination while preserving the history and character that make The Ritz uniquely Corpus Christi.
South Padre Island Convention Center
Additions and Renovations to existing South Padre Island Convention Center, including structural renovations around the perimeter of the facility, replacement of deteriorating structural elements, new color scheme selection, and renovations to the existing atrium. Gignac Architects, in association with TVS Design, designed a brand new facility, as shown in the renderings above, which includes conference areas for large and small events, grand entry with shade structure, landscaping, and parking.
